# Editorial Policy

Maharashtra Board Help Center exists to give Maharashtra board students accurate, dated, sourced information for free. This page explains how we do that, so you can judge a page before you act on it.

1. Sourcing: official portals are the only authority

For anything that costs a student money, time or a seat — dates, fees, eligibility, deadlines, procedure — the only sources we treat as authoritative are the board's own and the government's own:

— mahahsscboard.in — MSBSHSE circulars and notices, the primary source for every rule

— mahresult.nic.in — SSC and HSC results, with the board's published mirrors

— verification.mh-ssc.ac.in and verification.mh-hsc.ac.in — verification of marks, answer-book photocopy, revaluation, migration certificate, and the divisional board directory

— mahafyjcadmissions.in — FYJC centralised admission, and the Government Resolutions that govern it

— reprint.mahahsscboard.in, boardmarksheet.maharashtra.gov.in and aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in — certificates and duplicate marksheets

— mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in (scholarships), cetcell.mahacet.org (MHT-CET), dvet.gov.in (bifocal and vocational education)

— Government Resolutions of the Maharashtra School Education Department

Established news outlets tell us that something has happened; they are never the final authority on what the rule is. We do not treat third-party edtech summaries as sources of fact, however highly they rank: where one disagrees with a board circular, the circular is what we publish. We do not copy from other education websites.

2. Verification, and what we do when sources disagree

Every fee, date, deadline, eligibility rule and quota is published with its source linked and the date we last checked it. Where a circular exists, we cite it by number and date and archive the copy we relied on, because board PDFs move and a dead citation is worse than no citation.

Sources genuinely do disagree, including official pages that have not been updated. When they do, we show both positions, name both sources, mark the point as unverified, and tell you to confirm with the board or your divisional board before acting. We do not quietly pick one to make a page look tidy.

Where we cannot verify a number against a primary source, we do not publish the number — we say what is uncertain and where it will be confirmed. We never present an estimate as measured data: if we show a figure as a count or a frequency, it was counted, from a named source we link. If a table cannot be filled with real values, we do not publish the table.

3. Dating and review cadence

— Every page shows a last reviewed date.

— Deadline, fee and admission pages carry a separate "verified on" stamp naming the circular or portal that was checked. That is different from the last-edited date, and it is the more useful of the two.

— Result, appeal and FYJC admission pages are re-checked monthly through their season, and whenever the board publishes a relevant circular. Rule and process pages are reviewed at least every six months. Subject pages are reviewed when the syllabus or paper pattern changes.

— We never refresh a date to make a page look new. If nothing substantive changed, the date does not move.

— When a substantive change is made to a page, we say so on the page itself, with the date and what changed.

4. Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to know.

— Email hello@maharashtraboardhelpcenter.com with the page address and what is wrong. A board circular or portal link, if you have one, helps us act faster.

— We aim to reply within 3 working days.

— Clear factual errors are fixed, or the page is taken down. We do not defend an error because a page is performing well.

— Substantive corrections are written onto the page that changed, with the date and what changed, so a reader can see that the page was corrected rather than quietly rewritten.

5. Use of AI

Some of our drafts are AI-assisted. We say so plainly, because you deserve to know how a page was made.

We do it because the Maharashtra board calendar moves across many government portals at short notice, and a student who learns about a deadline a week late may have lost a year. Automation helps us turn a new circular into a readable page in the same week. The rules we hold ourselves to:

— A human editor checks every published page against the primary source before it goes live.

— AI is never the final authority on a fact. If a model and the board circular disagree, the circular wins and the claim is rewritten or removed.

— AI-assisted news posts carry a visible line stating that they were AI-assisted, giving the date the editorial team checked them and linking the original circular.

— We do not publish AI-drafted material nobody has checked, and we do not publish to keep a schedule. A week with nothing to report means no post.

6. Independence and advertising

This site is free to read and carries advertising.

— Ads are labelled as advertising and kept visually separate from editorial content. Advertisers have no say in what we publish, no advance sight of it, and no influence over how a page is written.

— Advertising revenue never decides which topics we cover or what a factual page says.

— Gyaniversity Publications, which operates this site, also publishes paid study guides for Maharashtra board subjects. Where we recommend one, we disclose on that page that we publish it, and only where a guide for that subject exists.

— Where a free official resource answers the same need — a Balbharati textbook, a board question paper, an official portal — that link comes first, above anything we sell.

— By policy, some pages carry no commercial recommendation at all: failure pathways, appeals, portal failures, hall-ticket rights, and escalation to a divisional board. The value of those pages is that they are not selling you anything.

7. What we will never publish

— Leaked question papers, or any claim to know what will be asked.

— Guaranteed-result, guaranteed-pass or guaranteed-admission claims.

— Paid agent services, admission brokering, or any offer to intervene in a student's board record or CAP allotment.

— Scraped solution dumps, copied study material, or answer keys taken from someone else.

— Named accusations against an individual school, junior college or member of staff. We publish the official complaint and escalation route instead.

— A fee, date, quota or rule we could not confirm against a primary source, stated as though it were fact.

8. Who we are not

Maharashtra Board Help Center is an independent, privately operated guide, operated by Gyaniversity Publications. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), the Maharashtra School Education Department, or any Government of Maharashtra body. We are not an official board website, a divisional board, a school or a junior college, and we cannot process admissions, change your record or influence your result.
