Maharashtra Board HSC (Class 12): Science, Commerce & Arts Guide

Maharashtra Board HSC (Class 12) covers Science, Commerce, Arts, Bifocal, and Vocational (MCVC) streams, with over 15 lakh students appearing every year. Theory exams begin in February (Science and Commerce) while Bifocal/Vocational exams may run into early March. HSC results are declared in May and directly determine college admission eligibility across Maharashtra and nationally for competitive entrance exams.

How HSC works: from exam to college admission

Download the timetable (November–December) — HSC timetable is released on mahahsscboard.in in November or December for the February–March exam cycle.
Attend practicals and orals (January–February) — HSC practicals run from late January to mid-February (2026: 23 January–18 February for Science). Practical marks plus theory marks together make your final subject score.
Appear for theory exams (February–March) — HSC theory begins in February (2026: 10 February for general streams). Papers conclude in March. Carry your hall ticket and a valid photo ID.
Check the result in May — HSC results are declared in May. For 2026: 2 May at 12 PM. Check mahresult.nic.in, hscresult.mkcl.org, DigiLocker, or UMANG. Save a copy of your marksheet.
Apply for verification or photocopy if needed — The window opens roughly two weeks after the result on verification.mh-hsc.ac.in. Apply for verification (₹50/subject) first, then photocopy (₹400/subject) if needed. Photocopy must come before revaluation.

July supplementary (purak pariksha) for HSC: Students who fail one or two subjects in the February–March cycle may appear in the July supplementary exam. For 2025, HSC supplementary ran 24 June–16 July. Confirm current-year dates on the official board portal.
